Aichi Triennale to resume exhibition of a statue representing sexual slavery victims
  • 5 years ago
After weeks of protests,... an art festival in Japan has decided to put back on display... a statue representing women forced into wartime sexual slavery.
Kyodo News Agency reported Monday... that the organizers of the Aichi Triennale agreed to put it back up from the 6th to the 8th of October, and discuss future schedules at a later date.
The festival had been taken to court by the organizers of the statue's exhibition, which was on the theme of freedom of expression.
The statue was removed last month a few days after being displayed... apparently under pressure from nationalist officials and the government.
