South Korea announced its strongest policies yet to reduce fine dust.
The National Council on Climate and Air Quality outlined 21 measures giving the issue extra attention, especially from December through March when the pollutant level is at its worst.
They include stricter bans on old diesel cars in cities, reducing the operation of coal power plants and cracking down on illegal trash burning in rural areas.
From November, the plan should help reduce fine dust emissions by 20 percent from last year's levels,.. to around 23-thousand tons.
