South Korea has announced its strongest policies yet to reduce fine dust pollution.
The National Council on Climate and Air Quality has outlined 21 measures giving the issue extra attention, especially from December through March when fine dust is at its worst.
They include stricter bans on old diesel cars in cities, reducing the operation of coal power plants and cracking down on illegal trash burning in rural areas.
From November, the plan seeks to reduce fine dust emissions by 20 percent from last year's levels,.. to around 23-thousand tons.
