Just a few days after the Ukraine scandal burst into the limelight, a formal impeachment inquiry into U.S. President Donald Trump has been launched by the Democrats.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the dramatic move on Tuesday, claiming the U.S. leader had violated U.S. Constitutional order.
Trump was quick to respond on Twitter, calling it "Witch Hunt garbage."
President Trump had earlier revealed he had "authorized the release on Wednesday of "the complete, fully declassified and un-redacted transcript" with Ukraine's president.
His decision comes after reports emerged that an anonymous whistleblower claimed Trump repeatedly pressured the new leader of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter at a time when Ukraine was desperate for military aid from the U.S.
