South Korea's unification ministry, in charge of inter-Korean affairs, is holding a special event to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Pyeongyang Joint Declaration signed by the leaders of the two Koreas.
The event kicked off at the top of the hour at the Office of Inter-Korean Dialogue in northern Seoul.
Over 100 people, including senior government officials, are in attendance.
The ministry hopes the event will be an opportunity to highlight the importance of peace, harmony and prosperity.
Unification Minister Kim Yeon-chul is also scheduled to hold a dialogue with citizens in downtown Seoul to explain the government's North Korea policies.
