2,500 People Still Missing in Bahamas
After Hurricane Dorian .
According to officials in the Bahamas,
the current death toll after Dorian
ripped through the islands is 50.
That number is expected to rise
as an estimated 2,500 people
are still listed as missing.
Carl Smith of the Bahamas' National Emergency
Management Agency is urging residents to
continue submitting the names of missing persons.

According to Daniel Gajewski, who was deployed to assist
by the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID), a "first sweep" has been carried out.
The teams will continue to check the area for
anyone in need of rescue, food and water. .
They will also assess sanitation needs.
Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis
is working with the government to set up
temporary housing for those whose homes
were destroyed by the Category 5 hurricane
