Vehicles swept away by floodwater as incessant rains batter central India

These frightening videos capture the moment several vehicles were swept away by floodwater amid incessant rains battering central India.

The incident reportedly took place on September 8 at Rampura town in Madhya Pradesh state's Neemuch district.

Visuals show the motorcycles, parked near the residential area, flowing through the waterlogged streets. Several passersby are seen trying to get hold of the vehicles and prevent them from being swept away.

Torrential downpour has led to a sharp increase in the water level in the nearby Neeliya pond in Rampura causing its boundaries to cave in which results in more water entering the residential areas.

The low-lying areas in the town were inundated and water entered several homes, throwing life out of gear in the area.

Rampura locality is surrounded by hills in all its four sides. Rainwater flowing from the hills also accumulated in the area, thus aggravating the plight of the people.

However, no casualties have been reported from the area.
