48 U.S. states launch anti-trust investigation into Google
  • 5 years ago
Google now faces an anti-trust investigation by 48 U.S. states... for alleged monopolistic behavior.
In a news conference Monday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, one of the probe's leaders, said Google dominates all aspects of internet advertising and search, though he noted that this is an investigation, and not yet a lawsuit.
It's a bipartisan probe, and the only states whose attorneys general have not yet joined are California and Alabama.
Google has reportedly declined to comment, pointing to earlier statements that it will work with state officials.
Just last Friday eight states and the District of Columbia announced an investigation into Facebook as well.
