UN says climate crisis is greatest ever threat to human rights

The UN has warned that climate change is the greatest ever threat to human rights.
The warning came from the UN human rights chief Michelle Bachelet during the 42nd human rights council in Geneva on Monday.
She blamed climate change for civil wars and the plight of indigenous people in Amazon.
Denouncing the drastic acceleration of Amazon deforestation, she urged leaders of Bolivia and Brazil “ensure the implementation of longstanding environmental policies" to prevent future tragedies.
She also added that she was "alarmed" that migrant children are still being held in centers in the U.S. and Mexico.
