A group of scientists who released the first-ever photograph of a black hole has been awarded the Breakthrough Prize - widely referred to as the "Oscars of Science".
Back in April, scientists from the International Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration captured the image of a super massive black hole located at the centre of a galaxy 54 million light-years away from Earth.
The 347 global scientists who participated, including 8 South Koreans will also divide the prize money of three million U.S. dollars.
The honorees will receive their awards at a ceremony on November 3rd at a NASA Research Center in California.
