MANILA, Philippines – Prices of commercial rice have gone down by as much as P3 per kilo in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela, or the CAMANAVA area. The Grecon Grains Confederation-CAMANAVA chapter said it granted the request of new National Food Authority (NFA) administrator Arthur Juan for a rollback. Starting Sunday, the least expensive kind of well-milled commercial rice will be sold at P37 a kilo, from the previous price of P40. Meanwhile, the NFA is now considering selling NFA rice through non-traditional channels, such as schools, hospitals, and churches. -- News Now, ANC, July 6, 2014.
