Pangilinan doubts if PH ready for Asean integration

Two conflicting views have emerged on whether or not the Philippines is ready for the 2015 ASEAN integration. Manuel Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT, expressed doubts the country is ready for integration. But Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez allayed such fears, citing a similar apprehension when the country embraced the "open skies" policy a few years back. The ASEAN Economic Community aims to create a single market economy by 2015, with free movement of goods and services throughout the 10-member bloc. ANC News Now, May 22, 2014
