The official logo for the 2022 Qatar World Cup was unveiled in Doha on Tuesday,... the first tournament to be held in the Middle East,... and during the winter season.
According to FIFA, the logo is in the shape of the iconic World Cup Trophy with many symbolic elements.
The number eight is in reference to the eight venues that will host the matches,... and it also resembles the infinity symbol... representing the interconnected nature of the global sporting event.
It also alludes to a traditional Arab woolen shawl... to signify regional culture and winter.
