Jilted man holds six kids hostage in Caloocan

MANILA – A man was arrested after he held hostage his children, nephews and nieces in Caloocan City Sunday evening. Emman (not his real name) held the children hostage inside their house in Golden Valley Subdivision in Barangay Bagong Barrio past 7 p.m. The suspect, pointing a kitchen knife at one of the hostages, demanded that he talk to his wife who left him in November last year supposedly for a man she befriended through text messaging. After four hours, Emman finally set the hostages free when his wife, Emily (not her real name), arrived. Emily said she decided to leave her husband because the latter was jobless. She also denied having a relationship with another man. Emman is facing alarm and scandal, and child abuse charges. – report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
