Academy Award-winning actor Robert DeNiro made a surprise appearance at the launch of Nobu Hotels Manila, in the Philippine capital on Monday. DeNiro, who is one of the investors behind the luxury hotel and restaurant chain Nobu, appeared on stage with Hollywood chef Nobu Matsuhisa, as well as Melco Crown Entertainment co-chairmen Lawrence Ho and James Packer. Manila will be Nobu Hotels' first location in Asia. During the press conference, DeNiro shared how he became involved as an investor in Nobu. He also said it was his first time in Manila, although he had previously visited a resort. DeNiro said he will be back for the Nobu Hotel Manila launch.
