La Salle beats UE, sweeps first round

MANILA, Philippines – The De La Salle Lady Spikers continue their clinical demolition of other teams as they completed a sweep of the first round of the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament. The three-time defending champions defeated University of the East, 25-12, 25-18, and 25-20, for their 23rd straight win since last season. It took La Salle only one hour and 17 minutes to wrap up the match as Ara Galang, Abigail Marano and Cyd Demecillo led the Lady Spikers to victory. Meantime, UE has now lost 24 straight matches dating back to 2012. They have yet to win a set in Season 76. Mornings @ ANC, January 16, 2014.
