Jordanian journalist Baker Atyani, who was abducted by terrorist group Abu Sayyaf about 18 months ago and is now free, revealed that he managed to escape from his captors. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Atyani said he tried to escape twice before, but failed. This time, however, his captors appeared to be busy with other things and he seized the opportunity to make his getaway. Atyani was abducted in July 2012 while filming a documentary in Sulu. He lost a significant amount of weight 18 months after he was snatched. He is set to be transported to Zamboanga today after going through medical check-up and stress debriefing in Patikul, Sulu. Patikul Police chief Senior Superintendent Kris Conrad Gutierrez said they recovered Atyani in Barangay Igasan walking by himself. - Mornings@ANC, 5 December 2013
