President Moon Jae-in has joined an equity fund that contributes to South Korea's material, parts and equipment businesses.
Known as the NH-Amundi Victorious Korea Equity Fund,... it donates half of its performance fees to South Korean firms in the materials and parts sector,... especially those affected by Japan's export curbs,... including those in the local semiconductor parts industry.
His joining of the fund reflects South Korea's will to nurture industries affected by Japan's trade restrictions.
President Moon becomes the first South Korean president to have publicly invested in financial instruments during his term in office.
