115 Degree Temperature Recording
Breaks Record in Phoenix.
It tops the previous record set in 1969
in the Arizona city by one degree.
According to the
National Weather Service, it is also
the highest recorded temperature
in the U.S. this summer.
Phoenix has also recently been hit with temperatures as high as 91 degrees
during overnight periods.
We've had the warmest record low quite a few times, at least tied or broken, over the last couple of weeks, Weather Service meteorologist Jaret Rogers, via MSN.
Rogers adds that residents in the
Phoenix area should hydrate and
stay out of the sun as much as they can.
If you do have to be out in the sun make sure you take frequent breaks in the shade, Weather Service meteorologist Jaret Rogers, via MSN.
The heat also comes as potentially strong monsoon storms have formed nearby and could potentially reach Phoenix.
