South Korea's National Assembly has convened its House Steering Committee to grill President Moon Jae-in's top advisors over Japan's trade curbs.
The ruling party will likely stress Tokyo's responsibility for escalating tensions and call for stern countermeasures.
Opposition parties are expected to slam the government for what they claim is its "inability" to deal with diplomatic and economic crises.
Rival lawmakers will also likely question the top office on the possibility of scrapping a military intel-sharing pact with Japan.... as a response to Tokyo's trade actions.
The session is also expected to cover North Korea's latest provocation and Seoul's response.
