Wall Street had its worst day in 2019 on the first trading day of the week.
Major indexes posted their biggest percentage drop of the year as a fall in the yuan following U.S. President Donald Trump's vow to impose additional tariffs on Chinese goods sparked fears of further escalation of the U.S., China trade war.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 767 points to close at 25-718 and dropped as much as 962 points at one point.
The S&P 500 dropped nearly 3-percent and the Nasdaq Composite lagged... falling 3-and-a-half percent.
It was the worst percentage drop for all three indexes this year.
The S&P 500 is now more than 6-percent below its record hit only last month.
