Severe heat continues in Korea 080519

Good afternoon. We are expected to have the hottest temperatures of the season so far today, the western parts of the country will see sizzling heat with heat wave warnings in place for most of South Korea.

Highs will be between 32 and 37 degrees Celsius this afternoon. Those of you on summer vacation will need to protect yourself from the heat and blazing sunshine today and brace for a typhoon over the next couple of days.

The 8th typhoon of the season Tropical Storm Francisco will get close to Korean peninsula starting tomorrow afternoon, it will brush South Korea's southern coast on Tuesday night and pass through Korea's inland regions before making its exit from the east coast on Wednesday night.

The storm is expected to see bring heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it will also bring slight relief from the heat.
