Trump Signs Bill to Replenish
9/11 Victim Compensation Fund On July 29, President Trump signed legislation
that will replenish the September 11th Victim
Compensation Fund (VCF) over the next decade. The VCF will be replenished by $10.2 billion, with those
funds going to first responders who suffered illnesses
and injuries as a result of the 9/11 terror attacks. Donald Trump, via CNN The VCF was previously slated to expire in 2020
due to a surge of claims and a lack of funding.
The legislation authorizes money for the fund through 2092. Those who previously filed claims and were met
with cuts due to insufficient funding will also
now receive the full compensation amount.
