Heavy monsoon downpours to spread over most of Korea 072519

' Good afternoon. Monsoon rain is falling in the central parts of the country and will spread nationwide. Expect heavy showers through Sunday morning, downpours of 400 millimeters or more are in store for the Chungcheong-do Provinces and surrounding regions.

Heavy rain alerts are in place for Chungcheong-do, so if you plan to spend your summer vacation in those regions over the coming days be extra careful while a heat wave advisory covers the Gyeongsang-do Provinces and its surrounding regions as well as Gangwon-do Province.

Daegu and Gyeongju will have a scorcher while daily highs will be similar to a couple notches lower than yesterday.

Brace for stormy conditions over the next few days but showers will bring slight relief from the heat... but after the last round of monsoon rain ends, the heat will intensify.
