U.S. celebrates 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing
  • 5 years ago
On Saturday, the United States celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
President Trump met with astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins at the White House a day earlier,... and on Saturday, Aldrin went with Vice President Mike Pence to the Apollo 11 launch site in Florida.
The first man to step foot on the moon, Neil Armstrong, died in 2012.
But in his hometown in Ohio, some 2-thousand people joined in "Run to the Moon" races.
In New York, there was a Moon Landing Party planned in Times Square, but it had to be moved indoors because of extreme heat.
