Zahid: MCA, MIC backed Najib's appointment

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has defended Najib Abdul Razak's appointment as chairperson of the BN advisory board, saying the embattled former premier has 'attractive' qualities that could help BN win the 15th General Election.

Yesterday, one-time Najib loyalist Nazri Abdul Aziz termed the appointment "regressive," and questioned how the former premier could advise BN.

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin also expressed his disappointment with the move.
