The central government is firm on the issue of levying additional surcharge on foreign investors taking the non-corporate route. CBDT chairman PC Mody said that the foreign investors can opt for corporate structures to avoid paying additional surcharge. In fact speaking to media on the surcharge issue, the CBDT chairman said, “You can't have your cake and eat it too.”
