Price cap on apartments built on privately-owned housing sites being considered
  • 5 years ago
The South Korean government has hinted that additional measures could be implemented to curb skyrocketing real estate prices, particularly those in Seoul.
Speaking at the National Assembly on Monday, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mee said she is considering the implementation of a price cap on apartments built on privately-owned housing sites.
It's a measure that hasn't been contemplated for the past five years due to fears it'll reduce housing supply or the quality of housing.
Currently, the cap is applied solely on state-owned housing sites.
