Visitors to major palaces and shrine exceed 5-million mark in first half of 2019

Seoul's palaces and shrines saw 5-point-2 million visitors in the first half of this year,... the second-highest number on record.
According to the Cultural Heritage Administration on Monday,… visitors to Seoul's four major palaces and Jongmyo Shrine during the January-June period this year jumped 26-point-3 percent from the previous year.
This is the second time the number of visitors has exceeded the 5-million mark, and the number was just 40-thousand below the record set in the first half of 2016.
It was the first time that free ticket holders have exceeded paying visitors.
The number of Chinese visitors was also significantly higher,… increasing by 125-percent compared to last year.
