S. Korea saw record-high earnings from game, software exports in May

Supported by growth in Korea's mobile game exports,... the nation saw its earnings in the game industry touch a record-high in the month of May.
According to data from the Bank of Korea, the country's total revenues from games, computer software and information services... amounted to 594-point-7 million US dollars in May,... the highest figure since data was first compiled in 1980.
This is being attributed to the release of several high-profile games from big-name publishers,... with trade balance in the game sector recording a surplus of 210 million dollars in May.
The bank says... compared to the K-Pop and tourism sectors,... the game industry was less affected by China's ban on Korean products... in the aftermath of Seoul's decision to host a U.S. anti-missile battery in 2017.
