This unprecedented exchange between the North Korean and U.S. leaders was certainly great for optics. We saw them shaking hands multiple times and smiling, while commending each other profusely.
What is the significance and more importantly, will this move the stalled nuclear talks forward?
For an in-depth analysis, I have in the studio with me Dr. Lee Geun, Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University.

Dr. Lee, it's a delight to have you in the studio so early in the morning

First of all, what was your take of the surprise episode yesterday?

I would like take note of South Korean President Moon Jae-in's role.
The focal point, as President Moon said,... was the meeting of the North Korean and U.S. leaders. However, Moon also said, inter-Korean talks are set to resume thereafter. What kind of role do you see for South Korean leader to help further drive the progress?

So, is it great just optics or will this significantly impact or break the nuclear impasse?
Does this friendly meeting indicate the two sides may be more willing to make more concessions in their denuclearization talks?

Finally, working-levels are in the works: What do we expect from here on forth?
Trump confirmed that he has invited Kim Jong-un to visit the U.S. When do you see an official third summit happening between them?
