Ford to shut down 6 facilities in Europe by end of 2020, laying off 12,000 workers

Ford Motor is closing a number of facilities in Europe by the end of 2020,... a move which will lead to 12-thousand workers losing their jobs.
The American auto giant says it will close six assembly and component manufacturing plants across Europe.
In a press release Thursday,.. the company says around 2-thousand jobs to be cut will be salaried positions,... adding it's part of the 7-thousand that Ford was reducing globally.
It added the closures are part of Ford's plans to improve manufacturing efficiency.
