Northern Italian cities of Milan and Cortina selected as host cities for 2026 Winter Olympics

Members of the winning delegation shouted "Italia Italia " as the decision to host the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics was announced on Monday by IOC President Thomas Bach.
Italy's northern cities,... Milan and Cortina, won the right to host the 2026 Winter Games after beating its only other contender Stockholm.
The announcement marks the Winter Olympics' return to Europe, with the event having been hosted by Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018,... and Beijing staging the Games in 2022.
Skating sports and ice hockey will be held in Milan,... while most alpine skiing events will take place in Cortina,... a city which has experience of hosting the Winter Olympics in 1956.
