Inter-Korean talks "desirable and necessary" ahead of S. Korea-U.S. summit: Minister of Unification

South Korea has told North Korea... that an inter-Korean summit is necessary and desirable ahead of a Seoul-Washington summit scheduled for later this month.
A ruling party lawmaker said Seoul's unification minister Kim Yeon-chul made the remarks at a closed-door meeting at the National Assembly earlier today.
This comes after President Moon Jae-in recently said he hopes to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un... before President Trump's visit to Seoul next week.
The minister added the government will review the outcome of the North Korea-China summit,... saying that Beijing has always played a key role... whenever nuclear talks hit a stumbling block.
