China launched a rocket from a mobile platform in the Yellow Sea on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. In the nation’s first use of maritime launch technology, seven satellites – including five commercial and two carrying experimental technology – were sent into space. China is the third country after the US and Russia to use a floating launch platform, but the first to fully own and operate such technology for space missions.
