New GCF chief calls for S. Korea to play a leading role in climate change issues
  • 5 years ago
South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha met on Tuesday with the new head of the Green Climate Fund in Seoul.
During their talks, the GCF's new chief, Yannick (glem-ah-wreck) Glemarec, asked that South Korea play a leading role in tackling various issues related to climate change.
Kang cited the importance of the GCF's role in implementing the Paris climate accord and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The GCF is a South Korea-based UN climate fund aimed at channeling money from industrialized nations to developing countries to help them tackle global warming.
