The International Olympic Committee has welcomed North Korea's willingness to field joint Korean teams for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games.
According to Radio Free Asia on Tuesday,… an IOC spokesperson said the organization is delighted to see sports help drive the momentum for peace between the two Koreas.
Pyeongyang's Vice Sports Minister Won Kil-u had said an inter-Korean team would be in line with what the people of the two Koreas want and also conforms to the spirit of the Olympics.
The two Koreas plan to field joint teams in basketball, field hockey, rowing and judo.
