Russia, Japan agree to push for denuclearization of North Korea

The foreign and defense ministers of Russia and Japan met in Tokyo on Thursday,... to discuss a range of issues,... including the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
During the so-called "two-plus-two" meeting,... the top diplomats of the two sides have agreed to push for denuclearization of North Korea.
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow's position on the situation on the Korean Peninsula is very close to that of Japan.
The two-plus-plus meeting was first launched in November 2013 in a bid to build confidence between the two countries.
