U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new 16 billion dollar aid package for American farmers hurt by the U.S.-China trade war.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Thursday,...about 14-point-5 billion of the total would be paid directly to producers.
Farmers have been among the hardest hit from the trade snag between the two countries,...and they are also a key constituency that helped Trump win in 2016.
Last year, the Trump administration provided 12-billion dollars in aid to farmers to help those affected by the trade war.
