Korean gov’t announces that it will initiate procedure for ratifying three core ILO conventions

The South Korean government has announced that it will initiate the procedure for ratifying three key conventions of the International Labor Organization... including those on the freedom of association and on forced labor.
Seoul's labor minister Lee Jae-kap made the announcement on Wednesday, ahead of a planned revision to the labor law.
Lee added that the government aims to send a motion of ratification to the National Assembly.
In 1991, Korea became an official member of the ILO... and has since ratified four of the eight core ILO conventions.
Two were on discrimination and the other two were on child labor.
