S. Korean actor Song Kang-ho to receive "Excellence Award" at Locarno Int'l Film Festival

South Korean actor Song Kang-ho will be awarded at the 2019 Locarno International Film Festival in August, becoming the first Asian to receive the Excellence Award.
The award is for Song's latest role in South Korean director Bong Joon-ho's film "Parasite", which was also selected for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
The Locarno Film Festival on Thursday said Song Kang-ho's (quote) "artistic birth can be traced back to the late 1990s"... citing a number of his films ranging from The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well in 1996 to his previous movie The Drug King.
The Locarno International Film Festival is held every August in the town of Locarno in Switzerland.
