한일 외교장관회담 추진…정상회담은 여전히 ‘글쎄’

Seoul and Tokyo could organize a sit-down for their top diplomats on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris.
During a regular briefing today, South Korea's foreign ministry said discussions were held to make that meeting happen during the international event slated to take place between May 22nd and the 23rd.
During the session, they are expected to cover pending bilateral issues,... including Seoul's supreme court's orders for Japanese companies to compensate Koreans for forced labor before and during the World War Two as well as the ban on Japanese fishery imports from areas affected by the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.
However, the ministry's spokesperson said nothing in regards to a meeting between the leaders of the two sides, as both are scheduled to take part in the G20 summit, Osaka next month.
