South Korea's National Intelligence Service rolled out its analysis so far,... in which it said Thursday's projectiles fired by North Korea could be a new type of weapons system.
The agency said for that reason, the South Korean government's conclusion on what type of missiles they were is being delayed.
It also analyzed that North Korea's firing on Thursday was part of a self-defense military drill but was a clear violation of the inter-Korean military agreement signed last September.
It also agreed with the presidential office's assessment that the Pentagon's statement classifying the projectiles as 'ballistic missiles' does not appear to be the official stance of the U.S. government.
