Learn how to line a sandwich tin ready for making a Victoria Sponge with our step-by-step video.
1. To line a round sandwich tin, take a sheet of greaseproof paper and draw around base of tin. Cut circle out, cutting just inside line to make sure that circle will fit inside tin.
2. Lightly grease base and sides of tin to help keep paper in place. Lay circle in bottom of tin and press it down in place.
3. Put a little flour in tin, and turn tin so that flour dusts inside edge. The flour stops edge of cake from burning.
4. Pop out base of tin if it’s loose bottomed, and tap excess flour out into a bowl. If any areas look a bit patchy, rub a little extra flour on. Return base to tin if needed.
