Trump May be Left Off 2020 Ballot in California Over His Tax Returns A bill has moved forward in the state's government that says
presidential candidates must release returns spanning five years. Governor Gavin Newsom has said he
will review the bill before committing to sign it. The bill comes as the president continues to
refuse to show his taxes to the public. He is currently locked in a stalemate
with congressional Democrats
over their release. Under the law, Trump is
not required to release them. But the practice of doing so for all political figures has been a tradition for a long time. California state senator
