Seven North Korean defectors, including a 9-year-old girl,... are being held captive in China,... with a possibility of being sent back to the North.
According to Justice For North Korea, an NGO working for human rights in the North,... the defectors crossed the Amnok River on the border between North Korea and China earlier this month.
The mother of the 9-year-old girl visited South Korea's foreign ministry on Monday to ask for help in dealing with the Chinese government.
The ministry said it's aware of the situation and has taken appropriate measures.
But it added that it cannot disclose further details due to the safety of the defectors and for diplomatic reasons.
