Israeli scientists print 3D heart with human tissue and vessels

Researchers from Tel Aviv University in Israel unveiled a 3D printed heart with human tissue and vessels. Fatty tissue taken from patients in a biopsy was used to create the “ink” for the printout of the heart. Calling it a “major breakthrough”, scientists say they hope the technology could produce hearts suitable for transplant into humans as well as patches to repair or regenerate defective hearts.
