S. Korean lawmakers demand that Japan correct textbook's Dokdo claim
  • 5 years ago
The National Assembly's education committee unanimously adopted a resolution urging Tokyo to correct its textbooks describing Dokdo as Japanese territory.
Rival party lawmakers expressed regret over the approval of an elementary school textbook claiming ownership of Korea's easternmost islets, and demanded the decision be withdrawn.
They called on Japan to stop trying to infringe on Korea's territorial sovereignty, and vowed stern action against it.
The resolution will be sent to the Tokyo's education ministry, as well as the foreign and education ministries in Seoul.
