Singapore’s first urban insect farm upcycles food waste

Singapore’s first urban insect farm is breeding bugs to try and tackle food waste. The larvae are able to eat almost any organic matter and can convert six tonnes of food waste into 2,700 litres of fertiliser per month. The farm called Insectta currently only accepts waste from breweries and soybean processors, but hopes to eventually collect food waste from restaurants.
