Amazon to Close All
Pop-up Stores in the US Since 2015, Amazon has increased
their physical presence by opening
pop-up stores across the globe. Now, all 87 locations across the United States
are set to be closed in April of 2019. These pop-up stores were stationed in locations
such as Whole Foods, Kohl’s and large malls. They allowed customers to try
Amazon electronics and services
such as Prime Video and Audible. Instead, Amazon has decided to focus
on expanding their Amazon 4-star stores
and Amazon Books stores. 4-star stores allow customers to browse
and try products that have a customer rating
of four stars or higher. Amazon Books currently has
19 locations, and provides a
physical collection of curated books. Amazon hopes to provide a “more comprehensive
customer experience and broader selection,”
with this change to their retail strategy.
